First draft of letter, in note-book 59 (32) Mrs. Mary Graydon, Indianapolis. Ind. Jan. '02 Dear Mrs. Graydon: How long
it is since I nave had a letter or heard from either yourself or Katherine Graydon . I had letters from your sisters Mina
and Mrs. Moores on receipt of copies of my book, but they were as silent as yourself about you and your girls, making no separate
mention of you. The last we heard direct from Katie was by a letter written from Berkeley when she was about, to start for
home. Prof. Anderson was at our house on a visit a month or so ago, and he told us she was expected in Berkeley on her way
back to her island Honolulu school, so we have been expecting her every day. Do write a good long Graydon letter. Heaven
bless you all, Ever faithfully yours, J. M.02890
