4 It took a month for me to get rested from my long journey; but since then my health has been about the same as in California.
but I dread the cold winter weather which seems already to have set in. The ground was white with snow when I awoke this morn
ing. Three years just two days ago since I arrived in California I have commenced the study of phonography and am making
some progress. but see that it will take close care- ful study and a good deal of practice to make me a successful reporter
