OF THE STATE) MADISON All correspondence and shipments should be addressed: THE STATE HISTORICAL MUSEUMMADISON, WISCONSIN
August 15, 1913. Mr. John Muir, Martinez, Cal, Dear Sir; The Wisconsin State Historical Museum would like very much
to secure a good photograph of yourself. We also would be pleased to have some mementos of your days here in Wisconsin. Possibly
you have some models of early inventions or books or other articles used in your school days which you may be willing to donate
or loan to the Museum. All such material will be greatly appreciated. .Yours sincerely, illegible Chief, Museum. illegible
P. S. The Museum was asked this morning, just after the writing of the above, whether there was any material belonging to
you or photograph of you in its possession. Wisconsin certainly ought to have some memento of you. 05516
