Mabirra Forest Jinja P.O. UGANDA. vis Mombasa. B.E.A. 29th October 1912 Dear Mr Muir, Your welcome letter of September
August 14th arrived here on September 2lat and the book Mountains of California a couple of weeks after. Thank you so very
much for this latter, I have not yet read it but have glanced through it and am sure I shall enjoy reading. I am posting
the negatives under separate cover and trust they arrive at your address in good order. Many thanks for your information
regarding California it is a part of the world I have always longed to visit, and perhaps fate may yet direct my footsteps'
that way who knows? I wonder if we will ever meet again, I really enjoyed the few days we spent together and shall look forward
to a reunion in some part of the world. At present I expect I shall be in Uganda for a couple of years at least and if fortunes
exile on me I suppose I shall return, otherwise I shall look for pastures new. I am somewhat of a reamer at heart and do like
the idea of remaining in one spot all my days. I trust you are blessed with the best of health and that you win write to me
again soon. With kindest regards, Yours very sincerely illegible 05289
