to say. I have been at home all summer reading proof of the book writing a little. The last of the galley proofs I sent to
New York two weeks ago. So it is now done, will appear in the fall. The Alaska articles for the magazine have been delayed
in publication they will probably appear about the same time as the book I hope you are now getting the rest of Picturesque
California. I am glad your church is likely to be restored now. With love to Maggie kind regards to Mrs. Kelley whose nice
long letter I received will answer I am ever your affectionate cousin John Muir in margin: 2500 and W1235 51 re his 1st
book. Martinez, California Aug. 7. 1894 My dear Cousin, I have just been writing a note to Susan and thought I would
send you a word too though there is nothing new to write about. We are all well both here and at Portage and at Kearny Nebraska
where Mary is. David is doing well at the new business of fruitraising and he likes it. Maggie my sister is much better this
