Home Nov. 2, 2908 Darling Helen, I ordered two crates best muscats for you the Jude yesterday They will probably arrive
on No 8 tomorrow. one dollar paid on them by Johnny Reid. The lost letter you refer to told that Mr Trout did not come to
look at the house nor have I since heard from him. Th bit of water front at Vally's Junction brought: 1000 - 1/2 yours. Also
payments on lots. I have paid your town taxes, about 100, city by Magee 50 - I suppose you signed the paper sent you by Tinning
about settlement of insurance claim on the burned warehouses. All goes well. I'm going to get a man to run a typewriter for
me - expect him in a day or two So it will not be easy to get to Daggett until a lot of copying is done. But tell me what
you want I'll send it be very very careful to avoid colds now the weather is changing With best wishes to Mr Manson all the
Vans Fs dearest love to thee Ever your father friend John Muir
