Letter of N. D. Stebbins to John Muir, Aug. 7, 1874, continued it all as much as my young friends. I would like to visit
the Valley once more. My health is very precarious. Only last week I had one of the severest attacks of congestive intermittent
I ever had. I feel now prostrated, and expect to be for some time, as I don't recuperate as when a young man. Give my love
to Prof. and Mrs. Carr. I can never forget their politeness and kindness to me while I was in California. Anything you want
in this part of the world I can get and forward. Lay your commands, as I wish to be Truly your humble servant and friend,
N. D. Stebbins. 336
