Martinez, Nov. 23. 1907 Dear Mr. Colby: That is a capital reply or yours to the Call editorial. I didn't think they would
publish it, or take any notice of it. They did, however, in another editorial in the Sunday Call, wh. which I suppose you
have seen. It is very feeble and apologetic, and can do us no harm. Charlie Keeler was invited to the Berkeley promotion
banquet but stayed away because he did not care to listen to Manson, and felt that he could not volunteer to speak , and was
not requested to do so. I was in S.F. yesterday with Helen to see Dr. Moffitt. She is still feeble, and was hardly able to
walk from boat to cars, and to the Doctor's upstairs office. She is going to see him again Friday. He is not yet able to report,
but spoke encouragingly. I will let you sea the Stanislaus letter when I can lay my handsupon it. John Muir. 03980
