June, 1904 . My dear Mr.Carnegie, Your kind invitation to visit you at Skibo dated June 8th, 1903, has just reached me
(been received) after chasing me around the world. Had not the loss of my Russian passport prevented my visit to Scotland

life in the American wildernesses, I have not been an uninterested spectator of your career as one of the most influential
of Scotchmen; and though I have missed meeting you face to face, I am, with sincere thanks, Faithfully yours, J. M.
