FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY CHICAGO May 17, 1909. Mr. John Muir, President, Sierra Club, San Francisco, Cali.
My dear Mr. Muir: The Board of Directors of the Geographic Society of Chicago, of which I am President, has requested me
to write to you to see if you would be willing to come on to Chicago sometime this autumn, as the guest of the Society at
its Annual Banquet, to be held sometime in November or December, preferably November 12. The Society would, of course, defray
your expenses on this trip. I cannot tell you how greatly pleased we would be if you could accept our invitation, but I beg
to assure you that we should feel that you were doing us a very high honor. Believe me, with respect, Sincerely yours,
Illegible ADDRESS ALL CORRESPONDENCE, PUBLICATIONS AND PACKAGES TO THE FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY, CHICAGO U. S. A.
