Home, Apr 22, 1908 Darling Helen. I was very glad to get your merry cheery letter of the 21st yesterday - my birthday
70. Venerable old child (of Nature). This morning I sent you a fine box of flowers enough for you all. You ought to get it
by tomorrows No 8. Wanda's visit Tom says will be made in about a month though she is quite comfortable doing well every way.
I'm pegging away here in my den practicing my old skill in cooking as well as scribbling Wis my den could be transported
to the desert beside you, all my homes should have wings, so it seems should yours of late years, so often have we take flight
Ever your lover J.M.
