San Jose, May 4. 1903. My Dear Muir: Just for two things: First, to thank you for your kindness to the children - first
and second edition, and second, to rejoice that you are going into the Yosemite with Pres. Roosevelt, as High Priest of Nature.
I was very much afraid that some politician would be selected, which would have been a shame. As I see the President, he wants
to get away from all political influence and get in touch and harmony with Nature. If any partisan approaches, Shoot him
