the same to all the Agl.? papers of the country, to serve as copy ; it is just off the press. Just at this point (after letters
had been written, and envelopes addressed to the Agl.? papers,) comes a letter from Mr. Lacey (Member from Iowa) saying that
the bills in the Senate and the House has been joined, and the dual bill sent to a com. of conference this seems to be the
critical time: so I wrote to Mr. Lacey and to Senator Hoar, 02538
