Rooms of Scribner s Monthly, 743 Broadway, New York. Feb. 19, 1879. Dear Mr. Muir: We are sorry you are not pleased with
the drawing which we printed with the glacier article. It was by the artists mistake, o- mitted from the Meadows . We thought
it so rich and delicate in feeling that we could not omit it altogether. We are sorry if it is not accurate. It has been greatly
admired as a piece of sentiment. We will probably use the paper on Forests in June
