NEW YORK. NEW YORK, April 8th, 1897 John Muir Esq. Dear Mr. Muir:- Since I wrote you last we have been making pretty
steady progress in the printing office, and shall be up to the letter L before we know it. I wish you would let me have that
little paper on Linnaeus as soon as you can. We want to get it in hand, and get the extracts made to go with the article.
I had an interview the other day with your friend, Hamlin Garland, who is especially enthusiastic about you, -- just as we
all are who have heard you talk. Very sincerely yours, illegible 02272
