Original letter returned to Mr. Waldo R. Browne LOS Angeles, Cal. March 23, 1911. 325 West Adams Street. Mr. Francis
Browne, Menlo Park, Cal. My dear Mr. Browne:- As you say, formal goodbyes don't matter much, for those who love are
never parted. I am sure you will have a hearty glowing time with blessed Anderson. If I were to obey my heart i should go
flying to you through the midst of all work, and high above all reason, but you know that I am with you all the time anyhow.
I expect to go east about the middle of next month. John Burroughs, I think, intends to start back to the Hudson and Slabsides
on the 5th of April. He and I had the pleasure of dining with Roosevelt in Pasadena day before yesterday - a very brilliant
and in every way Rooseveltian affair. Now I hope you both will rise above all terrestrial worries and cares of every sort
into the best of God's upper regions, and assuring you that I am always with you, and wishing you God's luck, I am, Ever
faithfully, JOHN MUIR06894
