an old date. I began it and then tried to get word from some of Muirs relatives in this state. No answer having come to my
illegible in that quarter. I must trouble you for any infor- mation you possess. in the hope that it will be more recent.
I enclose a word to Muir which I will ask you to direct for me in case you know where a letter would reach him. We remember
your visit to us with pleasure. I wish you could come again, I feel a kind of kinship to all young men who love the plants.
