THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR WASHINGTON January 14, 1910. My dear Mr. Muir: Your letter of the eighth instant is received
and I note with pleasure your approval of my course in connection with Hetch Hetchy affairs. I am pleased to get the information
contained in your letter and also your commendation of my course in demanding a sweeping investigation. I will have in a
short time from Director Smith of the Geological Survey and the engineers who are assisting him a report on our investigations
in the Yosemite during the past summer. When it is in proper form I will be pleased to forward a copy to you. With very best
regards, I remain, Yours faithfully, Illegible Secretary. Mr. John Muir, Martinez, California. 04683own
