Abstract:
First planing mill and lumber yard of Fullerton. Abel Guy Smith in 1875, formed the A. Guy Smith Company to handle lumber
and grain. and had a group of warehouses for storage. The grinding stones and machinery were later sold to Thomas Spencer
Grimshaw and James A. Vail, (both lived in Anaheim). They were partners in the mill and lumber yard. The photograph has the
mill in the background. A water tank and tower are next to the building. A horse is near the water tank. At the back right
of the building is an unidentifed man standing in a wagon. On the building (left front) is a sign that says Lumber Office.
In the foreground left to right: Mr. E.W.(?) Lymburner, Willaim Starbuck (pharmacist), Thomas Spencer Grimshaw, James A. Vail
(?).
