April 18, 1901. Dear Mr. Muir, I am sending you the nine Atlantic articles which are the body of your book on the national
parks, for I suppose you will by this time have your final paper ready, and will be glad to look over the whole material with
a view to its arrangement for the book.It occurs to me that you might find it advisable to make a change in the order, possibly
putting the second article, The Wild Parks and Forest Reservations of the West ; first.I should be glad if you would make
any changes that you think advisable in the copy and let me have it back, together with your last chapter, as early as you
can, so that we may have abundance of tine to consider the matter of illustration and let you have proofs. It occurs to me
that further revision of the copy beyond such changes as you will now make will be unnecessary except for the final chapter.
I shall welcome the whole back again. Yours sincerely, n.b.parker. Mr. John Muir. 02854
