C to H R G Martinez, California, May 22, 1897. My dear Mr Page. I did not in the least slight the article on the forests
I sent you a few days ago. But just after I had finished it I had to leave home therefore sent it off in haste. My wife in
reading it over said she thought there was a line or two that might seem a repetition about glaciers. I can hardly think this
is so, but you may strike it out if it seems so to you. It is in the 5th or 6th page. Also you may strike out as you like
any part of the statistical stuff in the middle of the thing, but dont touch the head last of it. Most of the particular information
in the body of the article relating to forestry abroad the present condition of the forests in a legal view were obtained
from Vol. 6, No 3 of the publications of the American Economic Association of Baltimore Md. should be referred to in a footnote.
not necessary HRG I am now trying to sketch the National Parks. Ever Yours truly John Muir HRG
