W. b. PARKER EDITOR 434 Lafayette St., NEW YORK New York, August 7, 1909. John Muir, Esq., Martinez, Cal. My dear
Mr. Muir: I am writing you again at the risk of seeming importunate, to inquire about your Autobiography. I hope this is
nearing completion, or that at least some parts of it are advanced far enough so that they might be used in. a, magazine.
I should be glad to have the privilege of reading them for th Metropolitan Magazine, to which, as I think I have wri ten you,
I am acting as consulting editor. The magazine will be pleased to make generous payment for such chapters of the Autobiography
as they might be able to use, and I am sure would welcome very greatly, the opportunity of publishing something by you.
Yours faithfully, illegible 04554
