and more for finding Van D. peace for them Martinez Jan. 7, 1908 Dear Mr Lukens, I have just returned from Daggett,
after building a small cottage on charming Van Dyke's ranch close by his hospitable home getting Helen comfortably settled
with her companion. It is just the ideal place Helen is already much better. She is charmed delighted with the grand desert
scenery climate with grand Van Dyke family. Everlasting thanks dear friend for guiding is there in our time of sore trial.
I'm going back in a few days with needed house supplies, will write soon. With warm regards best New Years wishes I am faithfully
