glad Mother I went to Grand Canyon Martinez, Oct 28, 1897 My dear Lukens. We all thank you for your kind letter are
glad to hear that you are all well. How fine it was that Mrs Lukens was able to go to the Grand Canon. Ive just been writing
a little about it at the end of an article that will appear in the Atlantic Monthly. Am now at work on the Yellowstone then
probably will try Alaska. So you see I'm busy would be delighted to accept your invitation trouting--but Cant you come up
here with Mrs Lukesn, we'll be delighted I'm sorry to hear Richardson has left us,- good mountaineers are not so many as
to be easily spared. Are you sure you saw Magnifica Monticola only Coatarta at Bear Valley. With Kindest regards love to
