Oakland Cal Dec 20th 1883 Prof Muir My Dear Sir My report is all ready to be returned, and I only await your article
too? . Send it on its way. I am in receipt of a letter from the Hon. Sed? in which he says he will see that? it is printed
as soon as it returns to Washington. I hope to be in Martinez between Christmas and New Years, and if you can have it ready
by that time I shall be under many? obligations. Dont forget to copy some of your glacier sketches, as many as you can spare,
and some sketches of the plants also. I have heard nothing from my iapplication? to go to Greenland but see by this mornings
paper that Genl. Hagen says there? illegible vessels will be sent. Possibly one of them may be a illegible Mrs H joins in
