like to have you treat the following, or some nearly allied subject. Alpine Gardens. California speakers are limited to thirty
minutes; speakers from other States, forty-five minutes. Two typewritten copies Of your essay are requested; one for the official
report of the Congress, the other for the Press. It is specially desired to have photographs or exhibits illustrating all
essays. Several notable Eastern men are expected to add interest to the occasion; among them James Wilson, Secretary of Agriculture.The
Southern Pacific and Santa Pe R. R. Companies have granted a special two-thirds rate to the Congress and Flower Show. We
sincerely trust that you will arrange to be present at this notable gathering of Ornamental Horticulturists, and that we may
have the pleasure of hearing an address from you'. In case your presence should prove impossible, your essay will be read
Vo the Congress. In the latter case the manuscript should be in the hands of the Secretary mot later than May 11th. Hoping
