Martinez, Cal. Sep 12, 1907 Dear Mr Marshall- I thank you very much for your truly good kind invitation to Sacramento
Of course I couldn't go guideless in that irigation chaparral, but I thought I might find some help in the effort the Sierra
Club is making to save Hetch Hetchy from being dammed for a reservoir, tho a water congress is not a likely place for such
help, by the time your letter came I couldn't go. Remember me warmly to Mrs Marshall her sister your charming children especially
the youngest believe me with pleasant memories ever faithfully yours John Muir
