Description:
KOOPMANN FAMILY, 1890s. Born in Germany, John Koopmann arrived in California in 1852. Looking for a way to invest some
of his earnings, he purchased 200 acres of land for $3,000 in Alameda County in 1864. He decided to move to this property
permanently around 1870. John Koopman lived on his farm until his death in 1873. Pictured here from left to right are Herman
