THE WORLD' WORK FARMING DOUBLEDAY PAGE GO 133-135-137 EAST 16W STREET, NEW YORK COUNTRY LIFE IN AMERICA THE GARDEN
MAGAZINE April 13, 1907. My dear Sir: We are very desirous of syndicating in the various newspapers the article which
appeared about Mr. John Muir in the April World's Work, which you have already seen. In order to do this successfully, it
is necessary that we should have a picture of you that could be used-one that is not copyrighted. Can you let ma have such
a picture without any inconvenience? If we are successful in syndicating this article it will be published on May 12th, and
if you can oblige us with a photograph, may I ask you to let us know at once, as the time is so short? Will you please pardon
us for intruding upon you in this matter? It seems to be necessary in order to have the story appear to good advantage in
the newspapers. Thanking you in advance, we are, Very truly yours, DOURLEDAY PAGE COMPANY, illegible Mr. John Muir,
