renting the place. Will Muir is going to rent the part Mr. Westlake had. I received a note from Aunt Sarah last week, saying
she had been sick but was now much better. She and Anna Eastman are coming down here to make us a visit some time this spring.
They are still undecided -3- what is best for them to do. It has been rainy here for the last two weeks - and everyone
is thankful. We now have abou t? 17 inches in all. Every thing is putting out green leaves, and the almond trees are in full
bloom, even the peach trees are beginning to blossom. This has been a lovely day, and we feel that spring is coming. I can
hardly realize that where you are it is summer time. Underwood Bros. have sent you a complete set of photo's. of the President's
Western trip, among them is one of you and the President standing on Glacier Point. It is a wonderful picture, for you both
seem so lifelike, I can almost see you standing there. But I want to see you yourself. Come home as soon as you can. In the
