San Francisco, November 1st, 1907. Dear Friend:- Enclosed you will find a description of Hetch-Hetchy Valley, and a brief
discussion of the immediate danger which threatens it Now. If you are like minded with us, we ask you, (and others whom you
may persuade,) to kindly address a personal letter, in your own words, essentially as follows:- To the President, or to
the Secretary of the Interior, or to both:- Washington, D. C. As a lover of the Yosemite National Park, I most devoutly
protest against the use of one of its most important and beautiful features, the Hetch-Hetchy, as a reservoir. An abundance
of water can be had elsewhere to supply San Francisco. Signed:. Thanking you in advance for your attention to this request,
We are, Yours truly, John Muir, Joseph N. LeConte, Wm. F. Bade, E. T. Parsons, Wm. B. Colby. 06280
