Los Angeles Cal., Sixth Grade Hoover St. Sch. May. 23, 1910. Dear Mr. Muir: At school when we have spare time our
teacher reads to us. We have just finished your book Stickeen , we all enjoyed it so much. I think he was a pretty brave
dog to go over that big crevass. I am writing to you because I would like to know why you did not bring him to California
with you. Since he became so attached to you and you to him I think his master would been glad to give him to you. I was
sorry that he was stolen. If you had of taken him he would not have been stolen. If you are not to busy will you kindly answer.
