Praising my tree planting Martinez, June 21,/01 in margin: Can you give me Superintendant Newhall's address? My dear
Mr Lukens I'm glad to see by the newspaper you sent me that a host of young trees are rising up on the mountains to call
you blessed. You have made a good beginning in tree-planting the effort will be farreaching. I have to go to the Tuolumne
Meadows with the Sierra Club excursion next month, this recalls the pleasant trip with you. I should be very glad to have
you with us, but I suppose you will be busy with the reservation work. Remember me to Mrs Lukens, Mrs Jones dear Lottie.
Ever yours truly John Muir
