Transcription:
letterhead 1905 January 17 Dear Muir: In reply to my letter to Mr. Harriman last night his sec'y telephoned me that
he has instructed his men to do what can be done to further our wishes. I have sent you the text of the Forestry Congress
resolution in favor of Recession. W. Colby may find support in the fact that the west was largely represented in that meeting.
I reinclose the three newspaper abstracts. Call on me if you think I can be of any further use. Faithfully, Johnson 03511
