Brand, Leslie, C. (Leslie Coombs), 1859-1925 -- Homes and haunts
Description:
A workman painting the ceiling beams inside the El Miradero solarium. In this photograph, much of the original decorative
features have been removed or covered but some of the clerestory windows remain. Just below these windows, there are wall
panels with exposed semicircular framing. The solarium is being renovated into a gallery and meeting space for the Brand Library.
The renovation took place during the mid-1950s, and the library opened in 1956. The Brand Library was once the home of Leslie
C. Brand, and this room was originally the solarium. Title supplied by cataloger.
