glad I am to speak on Forestry at Denver, the August snow storm he I enjoyed in Tuoloumne Meadows in margin: cone from pine
tree on lot near Ladds Martinez Aug. 16/01 My dear Mr Lukens. I am glad to see that you are to be one of the speakers
on forestry affairs at Denver this month - good luck to you. I have just returned from the Tuolumne Meadows the Sierra Club
outing. About 125 were gathered around the Campfire we had a grand time. Would that you had been with us. I often spoke of
the fine August snow-storm we enjoyed during my visit with you the Crows. The cone you sent me while I was away is a small
immature specimen of the Sabine pine - With kind regards to Mrs Lukens, Mrs Jones the children I am ever Yours John Muir
