of the member's autobiographical reminiscence created as an institutional record for the Society of California Pioneers.
The original handwritten version exists in the member's biographical file. This reminiscence provides an account of Isaac
B. Pine's journey from New York to California and his life in California afterwards. Some background family history is provided,
including sibling names and paternal work history. Details are provided regarding Mr. Pine's experiences in mining and prospecting.
The time period represented by this reminiscence is from 1848 to 1904.

Autobiography & Reminiscence of Isaac B. Pine, "Biography and Reminiscences of a California Life of Issac B. Pine, as Written
by Himself", San Francisco, 1904. The Society of California Pioneers
Isaac B. Pine was born on July 7th, 1830 in Saratoga County, New York. He sailed from New York to Panama on board the steamship
"Crescent City" in December 1848. In Panama he boarded the "California" and arrived in San Francisco on February 28th, 1849.
From San Francisco he went to Stockton, and then to Angels Camp, Calaveras County. From there he went to Norman Gulch, Tuolumne
County where he became interested in a trading post. From 1851 to 1860 Mr. Pine was engaged in digging and running ditches
to deliver water to mining camps. He was owner of the "Stanislaus County Water Company". Mr. Pine was also Superintendent
for the "Eagle Quartz Mining Company" in Amador County and managed the property for over twenty years
