EDITORIAL-DEPARTMENT THE CENTURY- MAGAZINE UNION-SOUARE-NEW-YORK January 17, 1908 R.W. GILDER, EDITOR. R. U. JOHNSON,
ASSOCIATE EDITOR. C. C. BUEL, ASSISTANT EDITOR. Mr. John Muir, Martinez, Cal. My dear Muir : I congratulate you
on the naming of the new Redwood reservation for you. If I had my way the whole of the Sierra reservation should be named
for you. I don't hear anything more about the Hetch-Hetchy matter. Bourne is here and I hope to see him soon. Have you observed
that the President has taken up my idea of a convention of Governors? In the February number we shall print a symposium from
seventeen illegible of those most concerned who all unite in considering the matter of tremendous and pressing importance.
So the good work goes on.The President is doing fine things in other directions also. Faithfully yours, R. U. Johnson.
