00974 letterhead Feb 9th, 1881. John Muir Esq Martinez Cala My Dear Sir: In your letter of the 31st of January last,
you indicated that you would not be able to leave home during the month of Feb. This expression, encourages me to hope that
you may be able to Lecture for us on some Wednesday in March, April or May. For the month of March Wednesday, the 16th is
vacant. Can you honor us with a Lecture on that day? If not, what Wednesday in April would suit you? Please answer me whether
