1 letterhead Pasadena, Cal. Feb 30 1914 Mr. John Muir Martinez Calif My dear Mr Muir The Mountains of California
with forests, cliffs canons and waterfalls have been made accessible to me during the past few weeks. I had now and then
visited them in fo illegible een years but with you as a companion I am led to share in some degree the more intimate acquaintance
which you have with the rocks trees birds and flowers of the Sierras- I have read some science that is soulless - You write
as a true lover of nature- Having read your book, (usually 05714 letterhead a chapter only at each sitting)' I now
thank you profoundly for the pleasure that you have given me and the new light you have thrown upon subjects in which I already
had a deep interest I sincerely trust that I may meet you before we pass on to the other side. My wife and I plan to leave
Pasadena Mar 25 direct for S illegible s. I hope to visit Wisconsin in June en route to Charle illegible Mich. I am invited
