Cruikshank planned his "Table Book" as a monthly periodical suitable for reading by the Victorian family. The single volume
in twelve parts subsequently published (and in the Richard Vogler Cruikshank Collection) feature several illustrations by
Cruikshank and text by authors such as William Makepeace Thackeray, Edward Kenealy, and editor Gilbert Abbott a Beckett.
