Company and Crippen's partnerships with brother-in-law Frank S. Jennings, including the Point Loma Investment Company. Materials
include bond and real estate sales documents, water investment documents, correspondence, and local and federal tax information.

Scope and Content of Collection
The George Crippen Business Records are arranged alphabetically by business venture. The bulk of the records are tax documents
that show how Crippen's real estate holdings changed through the years. Also included are papers relating to real estate transactions
and correspondence between Point Loma Investment Co. founders and their clients regarding transactions. Of note are real estate
agreements from the Point Loma Land Loan and Town Company, an early land developer in San Diego, and Alonzo Horton, a prominent
San Diegan.
George H. Crippen began buying properties in San Diego in the late 1800s, founding the George Crippen Investment Company shortly
thereafter. During that time he also conducted several joint investments with brother-in-law Frank S. Jennings. In the early
1900s, Crippen and Jennings formed the Point Loma Investment Company, which sold land lots in San Diego and surrounding counties,
and managed taxes for various people as well as for the City of San Diego.
