Campus buildings pictured include Memorial Church, Roble Hall, Museum, Memorial Arch, the Quad, Encina Hall, and individual fraternity houses; some photographs depict the damage from the 1906 earthquake. Student activities include sports (football, crew, and track), plug ugly portraits, theater casts, fraternity groups, and indiviual portraits. Non-Stanford subjects include hunting, fishing, boating, and train trips.

    James Polhemus earned his a.b. in civil engineering at Stanford University in 1911.
