Description
Papers of Fred B. Phleger (1909-1993), an oceanographer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography who was known for his research in the ecology and paleoecology of marine foraminifera, and who helped establish the field of paleoceanography. The collection includes correspondence, writings, research notes and data, slides, photographs, and films.

Fred B. Phleger (1909-1993) was a professor emeritus at Scripps Institution of Oceanography (University of California, San Diego), where he was a pioneer in the ecology and paleoecology of foraminiferan protists.
