    Biographical Note

    Nate Thornton was a volunteer for the International Brigades assisting the Popular Front during the Spanish Civil War, and an active member of the Bay Area Post of the Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Thornton, a carpenter by trade, was also a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and an activist with School of Americas Watch.

    Contains five photographs belonging to activist Nate Thornton. These are: 1. Portrait of Thornton taken by Richard Bermack 2. Group of members of the Bay Area Post of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade (some members identified on verso) 3. Harry Bridges with unidentified man 4. Ray McGrath, Esther "Hon" Brown, and Dave Smith in Victoria, British Columbia 4. Father Vitale, Martin Sheen and unidentified man.
