Record Series 389 contains the working files of the Librarians Association at the University of California, Los Angeles (LAUC-LA). Files include President's notebooks, committee reports, minutes, annual reports, and materials on the statewide Librarians' Association.
Background
The UCLA Librarians' Association was organized in June 1967. The decision to form an association of professional librarians at UCLA was in response to a statement made at a meeting of UCLA professional librarians on April 12 by Sidney S. Hoos, University Dean of Academic Personnel, that the University Administration would like to hear the views of librarians on their professional status.
