Background
The Savoy Tivoli is a bar, restaurant and venue at 1434 Grant Ave in the North Beach neighborhood of San Francisco. Established
in 1907, it was bought by Frederick Kuh in 1967 from Nick Finocchio. It quickly became a hangout for the Beats of North Beach.
It was the first home of Beach Blanket Babylon in the 1974 and was often mentioned in Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City.
