Diamond Match Company sawmill and railroad was built and used in Stirling City, Butte County, California in the early 1900’s
to process and transport lumber. The Butte County Railroad linked Diamond Match’s sawmill and logging headquarters at Stirling
City with its remanufacturing and match plants at Barber, a suburb of Chico.
Scope and Content of Collection
The collection of 11 Stirling City lantern slides depict scenes of the Butte County Railroad trains in Stirling City, lumber
yard and engine room of the Diamond Match Company.
