Background
Diamond Match Company sawmill and railroad was built and used in Stirling City, Butte County, California in the early 1900’s
to process and transport lumber. The Butte County Railroad linked Diamond Match’s sawmill and logging headquarters at Stirling
City with its remanufacturing and match plants at Barber, a suburb of Chico.
