Biography
Robert “Bob” L. Jones was an environmental activist and pioneer in the field of
environmentalism on the central coast. He worked for the California Department of
Fish and Wildlife for over 23 years and was president of the Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County from 1987 to 1989.
He had a lifelong interest in environmental
protection. Bob Jones died in 1994 and the trail was named for him in 1998.
Scope and Content Note
Contains papers collected and created by Robert L. Jones, a local environmentalist
for whom the Bob Jones Bike Trail near Avila Beach is named.
